Overlooking the world famous square Waagplein in Alkmaar, the Cheese Museum has been the go-to spot for cheese. Housed within a monumental building, the museum has a unique collection of historical artefacts. Learn more about the making of cheese, the world famous cheese market and rural life in the Dutch countries. At set times, interactive presentations are being held at the 'theatre' of the museum. Children have their own section with interactive games and videos, and can enjoy the specially laid out scavenger hunt.
The Off-Peak day return ticket is only valid during off-peak hours, i.e. weekdays before 06:30, between 09:00 and 16:00, and after 18:30. At weekends and all day on public holidays. The Off-Peak day return ticket is not valid on King’s Day (27 April).
