Join us on a world expedition for a day!
Be a true adventurer for a day! Come to Wildlands Emmen and cross 3 climate zones; Jungola, Serenga and Nortica, full of actual wildlife and adventure in one spectacular location. Know this, adventurer: there are two ways to get around. You either pick up a map at the entrance, or if you’re fluent in Dutch, download the Wildlands app. Off you go!
A green, luscious jungle of mystery and surprise awaits, and it’s called Jungola, towards the back of Wildlands Emmen. Feel like the intrepid explorer you are by getting on a boat bobbing on the Rimbula River. Or take in the sights from the air, by making your way over rope bridges. Don’t be surprised if a band of gibbons comes to keep you company! Are you braver than anyone else? Then simply walk along the greenery on the jungle floor.
Enter Elephant Valley and learn more about elephants, or discover the Butterfly Temple and have butterflies land on your shoulders. During every Wildlands Emmen adventure and in each area, daily presentations are held. These are set at different times and aimed at various ages, so pick and choose what’s right for you. A word of advice: try not to get lost in the Bamboo labyrinth. Although we hear bamboo soup is delicious.
Once you leave Jungola, Serenga is next. It looks and feels like a savannah, with wider views but that same adventurous spirit. Hop on the Serenga safari bus and discover grasslands with giraffes and rhinos, hippos and prairie dogs. Lions keep an eye on you from Leeuwenberg, while the baboons simply hang out at their arena. This is Wildlands Emmen, and it’s theirs, or so they think!
Expect some close encounters with Nubian goats and Cameroon sheep, once you get to Dogon village. After all, they love a good ear scratching. And the little meerkats on their hind legs? They’re simply curious about your adventure.
Looking for a change of scenery after all this heat? Head towards Nortica and explore the artic world. Your expedition starts at the harbor. Watch the seals and sea lions while you marvel at their under-water agility. Your route then continues straight through the penguin habitat. Please note that all penguins have the right of way in Wildlands Emmen. Or don’t worry – they’ll remind you.
At the Polar station, you can observe polar bears both in and out of the water. Afterwards, buckle up, because you’re in for a 4D test ride in the Arctic 1. Only if you dare! Oh wait – you’re probably the naturally daring type. In that case, welcome aboard. Try to get the most out of it as the wild and barren Arctic presents itself to you from up close.
Lastly, there’s Animazia, an indoor playground at Wildlands Emmen. It has everything from sand and climbing ropes, a tree house and a theatrical show, to water features. If you love aquatic life, behold the sea turtles gliding around in the water. Every area in Wildlands Emmen features a choice of rare fish and other animals seldom seen by humans. And so, Wildlands Adventure Zoo Emmen offers a true adventure for those who long to explore wilderness secrets.
